Tasha was my best friend senior year in high school. We spent so much time together and had so much fun. After graduation, we went to an outdoor Alabama concert. It was also her birthday and we had a blast!! Not long after high school I moved to Tennessee. We did our best to keep in touch and when I would come to Florida we would meet up. I always arrived early and looked forward to seeing her beautiful smile as she would come around the corner. You know you have a special friend when you haven’t seen one another in a while and are able to just catch up right where you left off. We could spend hours talking and laughing. She has the best laugh.
Unfortunately, I lost touch with Tasha over the last several years since I have no Facebook. The last few times I was in Florida she was not able to meet up with me. Nonetheless, she has always been in my thoughts over the years and I would give a shout out to God in prayer for her saying, “take care of Tash and keep her safe, wherever she is”,as I do for all my friends.
My heart broke for you (John and Mrs. Ray) at the news of Tasha’s passing. I know she waits for us to all get to heaven to see her again. That is a reunion I look forward to. This time she will be waiting for me to come around the corner and I plan to greet her with a great big smile and hug.
I consider myself so blessed to have had Tasha in my life and have the privilege of calling her my friend.
Love to you all,
Amy Shipley Parker
