Sue T. Chapman's Obituary
Sue T. Chapman of Umatilla, Florida passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Harnett County, North Carolina. She met Roy L. Chapman and they fell in love. They were married October 31, 1961. Roy served in the US Army and they traveled together quite a bit, going wherever Roy was stationed. Sue worked in many capacities for the US Government, often on the Army bases. When she retired in 1981, she was working for the Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in Dallas, Texas as a clerk stenographer. Sue lived in Dallas from 1973 until 1989, when she moved to Clermont. She moved to Zellwood Station in 1994. She enjoyed it there and loved playing Bingo in the clubhouse. She was very active and loved to exercise. Recently, she relocated to Umatilla with her son. Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora.
She was preceded in death many years ago, by her brother, Web Turlington and by her husband, Roy on October 29, 2013 after 52 years of marriage. Sue is remembered and will be dearly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Debra Chapman of Umatilla and her two grandchildren, Hannah, and Joshua and his wife, Sasha.
Her final resting place will be next to her husband at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora, 1000 E 1st Ave, Mt Dora, FL 32757: www.firstmountdora.org/giving
