Stephen Patrick Kanar's Obituary
Stephen Patrick Kanar was born in Abbeville, South Carolina on February 2, 1944. He graduated from Duke Law School in 1969. He became a plaintiff’s attorney and litigator and was a member of the Florida Bar for 50 years. Steve was known among his family, friends, and colleagues for his honesty, integrity, kindness, and generosity. He had a simple faith, quiet and deep. He was loved.
Steve is survived by his wife, Carol Cooper Kanar, to whom he was married for 57 years. Other survivors include his sister, Margaret Kanar Yonkovich, her husband, David and their family.
At Steve’s request, there will be a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis, Florida on December 30, 2024, at 10:30 in the morning. Instead of flowers, the next time you are at a restaurant, please pick up the check for someone you don’t know or treat someone to another act of kindness.
