I had the distinct pleasure of working with Bob for eight years; he was one of my three all-time favorites. His work ethic, professional manner, intelligence, and personal appearance all led to my education and enjoyment of a banking career which lasted thirty-two years.
Mark, Wayne and families, I will miss the Bob that I knew, respected and loved, but the memories will always be with me. The best was when my husband, (who knew Bob since the Bank of Mount Dora opened) and I consulted him about several acres adjacent to ours. It wasn't worth much, but we asked about a loan in the event we could get a good deal on the land. Bob asked, with a big smile on his face, "Do you intend to pay it back?" My husband asked, "Is there any other way". We had a great laugh over that.
It's sad that we do not meet fine people until there is a gathering for such a loved and respected gentleman like Mr. Bennett. Meeting Steve was a treat. also.
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend services today, so I will offer the only comfort I know, and that is Bob is now resting in the Sweet Arms of Jesus. We are assured that He is the Greatest Healer of humanity.
With blessings to all of you,
Caryl and Carroll Adams
