Robert D. "Skip" Crawford's Obituary
Robert D. "Skip" Crawford of Altoona, passed away on April 1, 2019. He was born and raised in Ft. Pierce, Florida and moved here in the mid 1950s. Skip was a Christian, an educator and school administrator. He taught at Eustis High School had served as the Principal for Harry-Anna Crippled Children's Hospital in Umatilla, Altoona Elementary School and served many years as Principal at Tavares Elementary School, he retired in 1995. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corp. Skip was predeceased by his wife Dottie in 2015 and two siblings, John Crawford in the 1960's and Mildred C. McTureous earlier this year. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Ann Campbell (Mike) of Flat Rock, North Carolina, Mary Carter of Tavares, Dave McTureous (Debbie) of Eustis, Steve Crawford, Scott Crawford and Beth Crawford all of Tampa, Florida. Memorial services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Umatilla on Saturday, April 6th, at 3 PM with Rev. Brooks Braswell and Rev. David Kelly officiating. The final resting place will be Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.
