Opal Virginia Shivers' Obituary
Opal Virginia Shivers 77, of Umatilla, passed away on June 20, 2013. She was born in Tallassee, Alabama and moved to the Golden Triangle area in the 1940s. She was a Baptist and worked as a Dispatcher for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the Mount Dora Police Department and the Leesburg Police Department, she enjoyed playing bingo. Opal was predeceased by her husband Foy G. Shivers in 2012 and is survived by her children; William “Ed” Shivers of Eustis and Patricia (James) Dickerson of Umatilla, grandchildren; Christopher Wiley of Lady Lake, Tanya Joanos of St. George’s Island, Florida, Jacob Wiley of Tavares and Austin Shivers of Eustis, her great grandchildren; Nicholas Joanos, Alex Joanos, Angelo Joanos all of St. George’s Island, Florida and Bo Wiley and Madyson Wiley both of Lady Lake. Mrs. Shivers will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
