Opal Virginia Shivers 77, of Umatilla, passed away on June 20, 2013. She was born in Tallassee, Alabama and moved to the Golden Triangle area in the 1940s. She was a Baptist and worked as a Dispatcher for the Lake County Sheriff’s Read Obituary
Opal was a firecracker. She loved her family, immediate and extended. She loved animals and their tedious care was never a sacrifice to her. She was a strong, smart, no-nonsense type of woman. The kind some of us have tried to emulate. Opal, you will be missed. Kiss the angels for me.
LOVE YOU MY AUNT OPAL, I WAS SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE NOW &FOREVER YOUR NEPHEW KEITH WALLACE
I will always remember Opal calling me, when I worked for the Division of Forestry, to send a tractor unit to a car fire on the turnpike. She thought it was so funny that she could pass that call on to me so I could dispatch a "fire crew" to the car fire. This was long before county wide fire department coverage. God Bless her. It still makes me smile.
Patty and family, we are all thinking about you during this time.
Patty I am so sorry for your loss. Your Momma was a sweet Lady and I know exactly where you got your smile from. May you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you have of her. Her and my Momma are up there yelling out BINGO I'm sure of that , Love you.
In loving memory of our cousin that God put back into our path after many years. We extend our sincere sympathy, love, and prayers to your family.
