Mary Lou "Penny" Zeller's Obituary
Mary Lou “Penny” Zeller 71, of Eustis, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
She was born in Otto, North Carolina and moved to Eustis in 1977 from Dayton, Ohio. She was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis and a former public school teacher. Penny graduated from Franklin (North Carolina) High School in 1961, she was a first team All-State basketball player her junior and senior years. She graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1965. Penny was an excellent teacher and had been awarded the Teacher of the Year Award in DeKalb County Georgia and Alachua County Florida. She is survived by her husband, Dr. William V. Zeller, they were married for 49 years, also surviving are her children Rachel (Jeff) Fuller and William C. (Tara) Zeller both of Orlando, her mother Kate Cabe of Otto, North Carolina, grandchildren; Elizabeth Zeller, Emilia Zeller, Jeff Fuller and Johnathan Fuller, her brothers; Larry Cabe of Franklin, North Carolina, Kenneth Cabe of Sylva, North Carolina and Steve Cabe of State Road, North Carolina and her sisters; Joyce Raby of Franklin, North Carolina and Teresa Speed of Otto, North Carolina. Those desiring to leave a memorial in Penny’s honor are directed to the Zeller, Kennedy, Cabe Scholarship Fund, C/O The First Presbyterian Church, 117 S. Center Street, Eustis, FL 32726.
Graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 27th.
