To share a memory is a hard thing to do knowing that so many strangers will read this and not really understand the bond my “Big Sis” and I had. But I will attempt it anyway: To me, Marilyn had always been the rock of our family. Starting with caring for Mom during her last pregnancy (with me, while caring for our middle sister), helping me understand the mystery of my coming-of-age. She was there for us, when Dad passed away. She helped me get thru my first and last divorce. Best of all she helped me celebrate life with a wonderful man I been married to for 34 years now. She and her husband cared for Mom until her passing. She had to break the news of her husband’s father sudden death (by car accident) to him while he was undergoing chemotherapy. She was there for her husband when his time came. Also she opened her home to her family, if or whenever they needed a place to stay (me included), until they were able to move on.
There is so much more to Marilyn than being a good homemaker, wife, mother, “farmer”, oil painter, and best friend. She never asked for anything in return. May she find the “calming peace” that always seemed to surround her while she was with us. We will always remember and miss her dearly.
With Love, “little sis”
