Lee "Ernie" Garner, Jr.'s Obituary
Lee Ernest Garner, Jr. of Leesburg passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the age of 74 years. He was born in South Carolina to Lee Ernest Sr. and Addie Garner. Known as Ernie by his family and friends, he moved to this area with his parents at the age of five. Ernie proudly served in the National Guard. He became a certified jeweler in 1965 and was currently the owner of Garner Jewelers in Leesburg. Ernie loved the outdoors, especially being on the water. He enjoyed boating and fishing. He also appreciated a good game of Golf.
In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene in 2018 and his son, Scott in 1989. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his daughter, Lisa (Jerry) Moody of Newland, North Carolina; sister, Beth (Rob) Granger of Eustis; grandchildren, Rebecca Moody of Knoxville, Tennessee, Bryan Moody of Newland, North Carolina, Allie (Joshua) Cuthbertson of Morganton, North Carolina and Paige Moody of Newland; great granddaughter, Sophia; step-sons, Jason Smith of Dona Vista and Jody Baker of Eustis; nephew, Jeremy Granger; and great nephew and nieces, Garrett, Aubrey and Brooklyn.
A graveside memorial ceremony will be held Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis. All are welcome to attend.
