Just a great guy, fun to be with and one to admire his skills at being a great human being.
I worked with Herb for many years at Bel Art Products. Just a great guy and I truly wished we could have reconnected. Rest in peace Herb and never say NO to the sale!!
I had been thinking about Herb over this past year and I am very sorry I did not touch base earlier. I did contact Herb many years ago when he was staying with family in Florida.
I had worked with Herb for many years at Bel Art Products and was always dismayed that the owners never shared ownership with Herb !
Herb was the lifeblood of Bel Arts and the Landsbergers new this. Herb and Kurt hired me in the late 60's and moved me to Illinois to cover the midwest. I saw Herb once a year when we all got together back in Jersey. Herb was the ultimate salesman and he will be missed by all. I trust his passing was quick and easy. Love to all, Richard Cohen
This was the last picture I took together with Herb when I visited with him in Florida. My memories of the places we went to and things that we did together will last my lifetime. I could write a book...
I was very saddened to learn that Herb passed away. He was a gentleman and a scholar.

Sorry to hear about Herb. I knew him mostly when he worked at Bel Art years ago. He was a good friend even though we saw him infrequently, mostly at shows or at our sales meetings. Good humor, hard-working, good salesman, always positive attitude. Always looking for ways to help you market and sell his product line. He always had a story to tell. To most lab dealers in the 70’s and 80’s or so, he was Mr. Bel Art. Please express my condolences to his family. Alvin Preiser
Hi Steve...thanks for the email regarding Herb's passing. I have lots of good memories of him. I am on vacation in the Faroe Islands, probably one of the few places both you and Herb never made a sales call. Darren (Blair) O’Dell
Thanks for sending. I actually had tried to call Herb about two weeks ago to touch base. The phone rang a bunch of times and I ended up leaving a message. What a great guy. I will send his daughter a message for sure. Thanks buddy and hang in there! Bob Hill

I started working with Herb in 1981 and continued to do so up until his retirement. He was my “business, big brother”. We covered a lot of ground together, traveling from coast to coast to meet with customers, look for new business and to try and find some antiques along the way! I learned a lot about people from Herb. He taught me to treat our customers as friends, to listen to their requests and to always try to solve their problems. If we couldn’t do it, we’d recommend someone who could. We tried to instill those values in all of the sales people that we met, hired and trained along the way. Not only did we befriend our customers, but our competitors and other manufacturers in our industry as well. We were friends with everybody. He would say “you never know where someone is going to end up, so maintain all of your connections”. These are business relationship skills that are still part of my core to this day.
We were a terrific team together. No customer or their employees were too small for our attention. Like any great duo, we developed a “working rhythm” and made the most out of every situation. It felt so good to know, that our customers were happy to see us when we arrived. Not only were we business “partners” but personal friends as well. My family looked forward every year to his annual Christmas Eve afternoon visit with his Mom Jean. It was easy to see where Herb got his personality and people skills from.
My house has many antiques that we found together in barns, basements, garage and driveway sales that we’d pass along the way. If we “scored”, he’d ask the next customer we’d visit to ship our treasure back to us in NJ. No one ever turned him down!
Herb knew how to have fun and was a good sport. While I didn’t go fishing with him, one of his loves, we did dress up for lots of sales meetings and his legendary Halloween parties where friends and customers were always welcomed.
I will miss him dearly- from his classic untucked shirt tail to his great Monday morning stories of what he bought and sold on a particular weekend. Thanks for being my friend and mentor. You will not be forgotten.

I am very sad to hear of the passing of such a wonderful man. I recall childhood memories shared with the Ginsberg Family and celebrating with them the Jewish Holiday's. I always felt welcome and warm with them. Although many years past before I reconnected with Herb as an adult, he moved just 3 houses away from mind in Hopatcong NJ. Quite a surprise as we were neighbors in Irvington just a block apart for years. It certainly is a small world and I feel blessed to have know the Ginsberg Family. My condolences to everyone in his life ~ Christine Capriglione Falconi
Very sorry to hear of Herb's passing. He was a wonderful person and friend.
Think of him living in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved by so many and loved so much.
I had Herb on my prayer chains and I will keep him on them for some time.
He was a wonderful friend.

My husband and I met Herb at dialysis, my husband sat next to him for over a year, when we met we just clicked. I will miss his smile but forever in my heart.
