To the "grand dame" of Bay Street Players...the lights are dim and the theatre is so very quiet now without your heartbeat. You touched, shaped, molded so many young people as they journeyed through childhood and into the adult world and you did so with such grace and love. You begged, cajoled and eventually pushed terrified adults onto your stage and taught them to recognize the greatness inside themselves which they never would have seen if you hadn't seen it first and had faith in them. You treated everyone with fairness and respect, and while you were tough at times, we all knew it was "tough love" and respected you all the more. Thank you for being a friend, a mentor, a shoulder to cry on and a hoot to laugh with. It has been such an honor and privilege to go to school with you, work with you, fuss with you and be loved by you. Another little piece of my heart left with you, but I know you have it safely tucked away.
Thank you for just being you, Deborah, and thank you for sharing yourself with this world. KOYF and love you forever.
