My condolences on behalf of all the Walters family (Miriam Walters, Gloria Walters- Clarke, Irmae Walters, Alexander Walters, Blossom Walters, Enid Walters- Smart, Berren Walters- Wilmot, Winston Walters, Ralston Waltrs, Dorcas Walters ) of Bois Content Church of Christ, St. Catherine, Jamaica. We are grateful for the love, teachings and fellowship we had with the Hill's at Constant Spring Christian Camp. From the early age of 6 yrs I attended camp and it has played a pivotal role in all of my family's christian foundation and even now as adults we have upholded the teachings that we all received through the Hill's ministry. We thank God for hSis Hill's life and I know that she will meet my father Lorenzo Walters up in glory who had dearly loved her. Even though we have migrated and worship in different places ( here in Canada, where most of us reside) we often remember and look back to the good times especially this time frame when we would all look forward to camp. I remember when Bro. Hill would put me up on a chair to sing almost every year, and my sisters reminise on the hot dogs, the chili con carne, the peanut butter, singing around the camp fire and the dinner table, the banquet nights and the end of camp baptisms. We had tried to search for her in Florida but to no avail. May her soul rest in peace and Jeannie and Tommy know that your mom's labour and love was not in vain. Today my family and I are all a product of their ministry and lifes work in Jamaica. Now as a testament of their work and ministry I (Sandra) am now an Ordained minister in Canada and others are also working in the ministry too. They have helped me in my vision for a ministry to children and youth and look forward to the day when I too can be an extension of the Hill's lifes work for the Lord in providing christian camp services and missionary work to churches worldwide. She has certainly fought a good fight and now her course is finished it is now expedient of us to continue her work as she and the family in heaven smiles down on us. Absent form the body , Present with the Lord. I know Sis. Hill (as we called her back in Jamaica at Constant Spring Christian camp), has fought the good fight of faith, holding on to eternal life and has now finished her course. Henceforth there is laid up for her in heaven a crown of righteousness. Happy to know she has gone home to be with the Lord.I am one of them who was re born in Christ, under the Hill's ministry and happy to say that 45 yrs later i am still living for the Lord.Now living in Toronto, Canada originally from Bois content Church of Christ church. Dear Jeannie, Heidi and Eric. I want to tell you how I knew this woman you called Mother and Grandma. Friendship with Adele was a delight. Although I knew her as a spiritual person, dedicated to her Jamaican community of family and friends, it is the laughter that I will miss the most. To her friends(especially the Committee), she was adventurous and a free spirit who could always be counted on to take another trip or go to a new restaurant, eat any type of food, have fun in any outlandish situation and pretty much run your life. Through it all there was much honesty, love and laughter. The person is blessed who counted Adele among their friends. She could be relied on to council and pray for them always. Although I did not have the privilege of knowing her for years and years, there are some people who you meet and feel so in step with that you feel that they have been your friend forever. We had that kind of friendship. I know how deeply she loved all of you and just how special she thought each of you were. I know she is counting on seeing you when you set sail from this mortal shore and land in that forever place of Grace and Glory. She will be there shouting "Here they come" as you arrive. When we went to the mountains last fall, never knowing it would be our last full Committee meeting, the weather was perfect. One glorious afternoon Adele was sitting on the porch. The air was heavy and smelled of fall. You could see golden shafts of light through the foliage and the birds were singing. It was quiet and peaceful. Adele began to sing. I didn't know all of the music she sang but in the end I asked her to sing The Lord's Prayer. Even the birds stopped singing not wanting to compete with this sacred music. It was wonderful. I told Adele in her waning days when she wasn't responding to very much, that I will always think of her when I hear that song. And I will remember that golden fall day when even the birds stopped to listen. Imagine how much more glorious it will sound when we get to Glory. I can't believe it's over :(. I just wish I could've hugged or at least seen her one last time. She was such a nice lady. Well I like to think that she's in a better place now.
