Wood A. Lowe's Obituary
Wood A. Lowe of Eustis, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the age of 60. He was born in Alton, Illinois on July 22, 1960 to Woodrow W. and Allison (Montney-Evanik) Lowe. His family relocated to a farm in Bland, Missouri when he was a child. There he developed his love of horses and country living. Missouri is also where he met and married Sandy Montcalm, the mother of his only child and forever his friend. In the early 1990's Wood moved to Florida and settled in the Eustis area about 8 years ago. He was a talented craftsman and known as a “Jack of all trades.” Early in his career he worked mainly in the fiberglass industry, initially in the boat manufacturing industry and later in sales and consulting. In Eustis he helped to build one of Florida’s first cannabis nurseries from the ground up.
He is remembered and will be dearly missed by family and friends as a generous, hard working and loving person. He is survived by his son, James A. Lowe of Eustis; sister, Christie Lowe (Mike) Holt of Palmetto, FL; and brother, Mason M. Lowe of Bradenton, FL; and five nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of his life at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 507 N. New York Ave., #100, Winter Park, FL 32789 or online at www.cancer.org
