William E. Howard's Obituary
William E. Howard of Mount Dora passed away on Tuesday, March 03. 2020 at the age of 91 years. He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut. He attended Purdue University and later transferred to University of Mississippi. He graduated from Ole Miss with an Engineering degree. William entered the US Navy and graduated as an officer from the Naval Academy. He proudly served in the Navy for four years. After his military service he married the love of his life, Carolyn M. Howard. Bill moved to Media, Pennsylvania, where he lived for 30 years. He went to work for Westinghouse as a turbine engineer, retiring after 25 years of service in 1981. Bill had a passion for flying and owned his own plane. His first plane was a Cessna and later, a homebuilt Davis.
He and Carolyn moved to Florida in 1998, spending a couple of years in Lake Mary before relocation to Mount Dora. Carolyn passed away in 2002 after 47 years of marriage. Bill is remembered and will be dearly missed by his niece, Lynne (Joe) Givens of Westminster, Maryland; nephew, Stephen (Annette) Stehle of Baltimore, Maryland; nephew, Andrew (Chrissy) Stehle of Medford Lakes, New Jersey; cousins, Jane Doyle of Lineboro, Maryland, Roger (Diane) Tanner of Warren, Connecticut, Gene (Carolyn) Nuth and Bob Nuth; several great nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Bob Cassell of Cary, North Carolina.
