Bill Perusek
We lived next to him in Gainesville while he was in training as a physician. One day, I cut my hand while working at Publix when I was in high school. I was Scott’s age. The store sent me to a local physician as a workers’ comp injury and the cut was sutured. But later that evening, the suturing came loose, so I went next door and showed it to Tully. He told me to get in his car, and we drove to the ophthalmology clinic, where he opened it up and we went to one of the treatment rooms, where re-sutured me (properly). He asked me not to tell anyone, and I never did. I still have that scar as a reminder of him and of his concern and kindness. I remember him as a jolly, full of life fellow and a pleasure to have as a neighbor.
