Troy Paul Odom's Obituary
Troy Paul Odom of Eustis, Florida passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Umatilla, Florida to Ray Ross and Mamie Irene Odom on February 26, 1927 and spent most of his life in this area. Troy proudly served his country in the US Navy in World War II. He played Tar Guard on the Stetson University football team before he graduated. Troy coached football at Mount Dora High School and was an assistant coach at FSU in the early 1950’s. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Clarissa Mills Odom and his brother, Billy Odom of Tallahassee, FL. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his children, Linda Odom Kennedy (Joe Kennedy) of Grand Island, FL; Wynn K. Odom (Patricia Roberts Odom) of LaGrange, NC; Clarissa Odom Bryie (David A. Bryie) of Tangerine, FL; Stephen Troy Odom (Sandra Husebo Odom) of Park City, Montana; grandchildren, Brett Parent, Ryan Parent, Sam Bryie, Adam Bryie, Wendy Johnston, Stephanie Fiscarelli, Leslie Stevens, Jeff Odom, Addie K. Odom, Ray Odom, Lindsay Odom and 16 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald A. Odom (Maureen Carpenter Odom) of Ocoee, FL and his companion of the last several years, Phyllis Cross of Eustis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
