Tommy Gene Williams' Obituary
Mr. Tommy Gene Williams of Eustis, FL, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the age of 74. He was born April 19, 1937 in Forest, LA to Porter B. and Fannie Ruth (Smith) Williams. He graduated from Forest High School and at age 19, he moved to Ohio. Tommy worked for Dayton Power & Light as a draftsman and engineer for 15 years. Living in Waynesville, he was a volunteer fireman and town Councilman. In 1971, he and his family moved to Eustis, where he was past President of Midget Football and drove the van for the Eustis High School band for four years. Tommy worked 26 years for United Telephone (now Embarq) before retiring in 1997. He is remembered by his wife of 47 years, Barbara; son, Scott Williams of Mount Dora; daughter, Debi Williams of Eustis; sisters, Peggy Bankston of Louisiana, Rose Mary Smith, Ruthie Jane Meade and Linda Robbins, all of Ohio; grandchildren, Victoria and Christina Williams; and many nieces and nephews. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bennie and John Williams and sister, Ann McCann. A Memorial Ceremony was held on Friday, November 11 at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel. Friends were invited to gather from 5 pm until the service time.Arrangements are entrusted to Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors, Eustis, 352-357-4193.
