Thomas Robert Ponto's Obituary
Thomas Robert Ponto of Eustis, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the age of 70. He was born to his parents Robert and Grace Ponto on May 5, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tom lived most of his life in and around the suburbs of Milwaukee before retiring to Florida about 10 years ago. Tom loved the outdoors, specifically hunting and fishing. Walleyes on the Mississippi River and White Bass on the Wolf River were some of his favorite destinations. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards and socializing with the many friends he would make wherever life took him. Tom was a devoted fan of Wisconsin sport teams, especially the Green Bay Packers. Later in life Tom developed a soft spot for dogs. Small lap dogs surprisingly. His latest sidekick, Roh, will miss him dearly.
Thomas is preceded in death by his father Robert Ponto, mother Grace Ponto, and brother-in-law George Jay Korous.
Thomas is survived by his children Robert Ponto, Joseph Ponto; sister Janet Korous; nieces and nephews Peter (Erika) Sellers, Kathryn (John) Steenwyk.
There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday, September 10th at the Holiday Lake Ridge Village at 2pm.
In Lieu of gifts or flowers, a donation can be made to the Leesburg Humane Society in Tom’s memory.
