Susan K. Myers' Obituary
Susan Kay (Kimes) Myers, 67 years passed away into the loving arms of her Savior and Lord August 4th in her home in Weirsdale, FL.
Sue graduated in Fort Wayne, Indiana from Northrop High School, Class of 1974, and moved to Florida that same year. She met the love of her life, Jeffrey Myers, and convinced him to move to Florida in 1975. The young couple married on June 26th, 1976 and moved back to Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In 1978 they each accepted the Lord as their Savior and have kept Christ as the center of their marriage for past 47 years. Sue supported the family businesses Signature Construction and Home-Art Cabinets for over 42 years serving as the primary Bookkeeper and Treasurer. She was known within the companies as a prayer warrior, guidance counselor, and peacekeeper. She felt blessed to have worked with her husband (Jeff), father (Wimp), mother (Phyllis), brother (Greg), sister-in law (Linda), son (Jeremy), daughter-in law (Jackie) and nephew (Nathan) to establish a thriving Christian business that continues today. She enjoyed working but always had the perspective of God first, husband second, family third and all other life experiences as the Lord directed. Sue loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother (memaw) enjoying her greatest accomplishments while raising her children to be productive, responsible, considerate, and loving individuals committed in both their relationships and marriages. She experienced this through the tending of their needs at home and often in her Suburban running her kids to baseball, gymnastics, piano lessons, drums lessons, football practice all the while teaching Sunday School, Missionettes and serving as Children Church leader at Leesburg First Assembly.
Sue loved to sing worship music and was part of the worship team at First Assembly for 27 years. She continued singing up to her passing for the LORD in her home, hospitals, family gatherings - wherever or whenever the Holy Spirit prompted her. In later years she cherished being a memaw to her grandchildren and looked forward to more time spent with them on the many vacations and holidays, she enjoyed the phone calls and the facetimes as they talked about their life events.
Sue was an ardent student of God’s word and believed strongly in applying it to her life. She held bible studies in her home for neighbors, friends, family and whomever was called to attend. She enjoyed teaching adult classes at the Vineyard Church as well as at First Assembly. While her children attended Leesburg High School she organized and lead prayer for the Lake County School system at the Leesburg High school campus.
Counted as one of Sue’s greatest honors in life was the caring for her mother along with her siblings after the passing of her father in 2001 until her mother’s passing on Dec. 9, 2018. Sue and her mother spent many days together studying God’s word, praying for family and the needs of others. They were no strangers when it came to sharing the gospel to ALL they encountered. Born on December 10th, 1955 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the late Blaine D. and Phyllis V. (Nusbaum) Kimes of Fruitland Park, FL. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years Jeffrey L. Myers of Weirsdale, FL. two married children Jeremy L. & Jackie (Vanella) Myers of Lady Lake, FL. And Stephanie (Myers) & David Dunn of Charlotte, N.C. her sister Jennifer (Kimes) & David Carothers of Ft. Worth TX. her brother Gregory L. & Linda (Rennecker) Kimes of Fruitland Park, FL; her three grandsons Parker Dunn, Graham Dunn, Henley Myers, and one granddaughter Evie Dunn, a mother-in law Elizabeth Keelan of Ft. Wayne, IN. a sister-in law Kym (Myers) & Bill Guevara of Ft. Wayne, IN., a step-brother Pete Keelan of Ft. Wayne, IN. and a step-sister Christine (Sorg) Keelan of Ft. Wayne. IN. including a bundle of cousins, nieces, and nephews. The desire of Susan’s heart is that ALL (family members, friends, and strangers) would come to know her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
