Stella May Boggs' Obituary
Stella May Adams Boggs was met in heaven on August 20, 2025 by her parents, Milva and Fedroe Adams, her in-laws, Becky and Clarence Boggs and her dear friend Sandy Boggs. She passed away peacefully at Hospice of Taveres, Florida. She was born on December 26, 1948 in Urbana, Ohio. She was a proud member of Mechanicsburg High School class of 1966. She made many lifelong friends in her time at MHS. She was the first in her family to graduate from college when she received an Associate's Degree in nursing from Clark Technical College in 1987. She paved the way for others in the family to become nurses.
On August 25, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Boggs. During the years of 1969-1970, she was a strong supporter of Bob as he bravely fought in Vietnam. When Bob retired from the Air Force in 2002, Stella received a commendation for being a dedicated military spouse. Stella knew from a young age she wanted to be a mother. Her eldest daughter, Angela Suzanne, was born in 1971 and her baby, Amy Nichole, in 1978. Her love for her girls was steadfast and she was their biggest cheerleader. She also served in a motherly role for her nieces and nephews. She later went on to have three granddaughters, Melissa Lemmings, Annaliese Brockman and Graciebeth Brockman. She has added three great grandchildren, Ella, Avery and Carter Bailey.
Prior to beginning her career as a nurse, she held several odd jobs and worked several years at Ranco in Plain City, Ohio. Some of her dearest friends were made during her time there. She spent her entire nursing career working for Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio. She worked on the medical-surgical unit, as a nurse manager and ended her career as a hospice nurse. Stella is remembered for her compassionate, empathetic nature as she worked with patients and families as they navigated making end-of-life decisions. While she was sick, there were eighteen hospice nurses praying fervently for her. Her true character shone as she held the hand of an AIDS patient when his family would not.
Stella was strong in her faith. She attended The Little Country Church in Springfield, Ohio and New Life Baptist Church in Leesburg, Florida. She loved her church community. The family is grateful for their support over the last couple of months. She was especially fond of the potlucks held after church. We will honor her with one at her celebration of life.
Stella is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Boggs, daughters, Dr. Angela (Eric) Brockman and Amy (Marty) Boggs, granddaughters, Melissa (Allen) Wilson, Annaliese Brockman and Graciebeth Brockman, great-grandchildren, Ella, Avery and Carter Bailey, brothers, Hobert (Bev) Adams and Roger (Jeanne) Adams, sister, Janet (Bob) Wright and brother-in-law, David (Connie) Boggs and her best friend, Sue (Skip) Lycan. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milva and Fedroe Adams, in-laws, Becky and Clarence Boggs and her dear friend Sandy Boggs.
A celebration of life will be held on September 27, 2025 at Mechanicsburg Christian Fellowship in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. The family will welcome friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the celebration of life beginning at 11:00 a.m. We will celebrate Stella's love of church potlucks by holding one immediately after the celebration of life. A celebration of life will be held in Leesburg in the fall. Her ashes will be interred in Vernon-Asbury Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a hospice of your choice.
When peace, like a river,
Attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot,
Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, with my soul.
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
