Sibyl Griffin Green's Obituary
Sibyl Griffin Green, 92, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Mount Dora. Sibyl was born on March 24, 1918, in Eustis, FL. She graduated from Eustis High School in 1936, The Ringling School of Art in 1938, and the Pittsburgh School of Art in 1939. Her passion for art led her to receive countless ribbons for artistic achievement. Sibyl was a member of the Eustis and Mount Dora Art Leagues, the American Legion, VFW and Moose auxiliaries and the BPOE in Waynesville, North Carolina. She was a Gold Star Mother as her first-born son, Jeffrey W. Green, 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army was killed in action in Vietnam in 1968.Sibyl is survived by two sons, Gregory M. Green and wife, Mary Ann of Eustis; Kerry G. Green and wife, Joellyn of Jacksonville; granddaughter Natasha G. Savage and husband, David of Wilmington, NC; grandson Jeffrey R. Green of Wilmington, NC and great-grandson Griffin Savage. Memorial Donations may be made to Paralyzed Vets of America. A Memorial Service was held Friday, January 7, 2011, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors in Eustis.You may leave a condolence for the family by signing the guest book below.
