Shirley Ann Lanier June 15, 1946 – May 20, 2026
Shirley Ann Lanier, a lifelong resident of Eustis, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born and raised in Eustis on June 15, 1946, Shirley was a devoted member of her community and a woman of deep faith. She was an active member of First Assembly of God in Eustis, where she found great joy in fellowship and worship.
Shirley dedicated many years of service to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, from which she proudly retired in 2005. She was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those she served.
Outside of her career, Shirley embraced life with enthusiasm and passion. She was a member of the Lake County Jeep Club and the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, sharing many cherished adventures and friendships along the way. She was also an avid reader who found comfort and joy in books, and she especially loved spending quiet moments sitting on her porch, taking in the simple beauty of each day.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Lanier; her parents, Jimmie Lee and Vearl Parks; and her son-in-law, David W. Milner.
She is survived by her children, Luwana Milner and Terina (Donnie) Kent; her brother, Jimmy (Peggy) Parks; her beloved grandchildren, Lindsey and Ivey Grantham; and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m., with a processional to Lakeside Memory Gardens for interment.
Parking Information
Parking for Hamlin & Hilbish will be in the parking lot across the street next to Lake Eustis Christian Church. There will be cones, a sign, and possible police assistance with crossing. For those unable to walk or needing additional assistance, there is parking in the back of the building with a ramp to assist getting into the building.
Shirley will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the memories her family holds dear.
