Shirley Joyce Hannah's Obituary
Shirley Joyce (Bond) Hannah born June 13, l935 in Nehawka, NE, died peacefully in Mount Dora, Fl on October 16th, 2021. In l953 she attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. It was here that she met Todd Gentry Hannah. They fell in love and were married on December 16, l955. In l968 she continued her studies and received a license in Interior Designing and enjoyed her career for 27 years. She also taught painting and owned a gift basket company. She managed her career in such a way that she was always home when their children were not in school.
She enjoyed being a Cub Scout leader, Brownie leader, a member of the PTA, a Sunday School Teacher, Vice President of Presbyterian Women at Pinelands Presbyterian Church in Miami, Fl. and Vice Moderator and Moderator of Presbyterian Women in Ocala, Fl. She received the Honorary Life Membership while serving as Moderator. She also served our Lord as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, wedding coordinator, etc. in previous churches. She has been involved in several art societies and is a member of PEO. Some of her other volunteering was with The Red Cross, Monroe Medical Center and The Chamber of Commerce.
Her greatest treasures; however, are her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her husband, Todd, their three grown children Craig, Mark and Kristy, Craig’s wife, Laurie, Kristy’s husband, Butch. Also their seven grandchildren and their spouses: Alisha, and her husband Adam, Daniel and his wife, Connie, Ashley and her husband, Jeffrey, Mark Austin and his wife Alex, David and his wife Terri-Dawn, Miranda, Casey and her husband Matthew, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Gabriel Jr., Scarlett Elizabeth, Jamie Samantha, Caleb Kennedy, James Gentry, Sadie Elaina and Laura Cadence. 11 nieces and nephews that were also very close to her heart.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 222 W 6th Ave, Mount Dora, Fl. Her final resting place will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following: Best Friends; Cancer Research; Shriner's Children's Hospital; St. Jude's Children Hospital, Hospice or Central Methodist University, Fayette, MO.
