Shirlene Pace Parker's Obituary
Shirlene Pace Parker, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the age of 86. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and cherished memories.
Born in Eustis, Florida, Shirlene attended Eustis High School, where she was crowned homecoming queen. Her radiant smile graced the pages of the school calendar as the June 1956 calendar girl. Shirlene’s passion for beauty led her to a lifelong career as a beautician, touching the lives of countless clients.
She met David Parker in high school. They were high school sweethearts. They were married for 23 years. Although they later divorced, she and David remained friends until his passing in 2017.
She met Robert White and fell in love. He was the love of her life for 43 years, looking after each other for as long as they could, until health issues no longer allowed.
Later in life, she transitioned to working at Walmart, where she made lasting friendships and eventually retired. But it was her love for Bingo that truly set her heart aglow. Whether at BJ’s Bingo or within the walls of the nursing home she called home, Shirlene reveled in the thrill of the game.
An Elvis Presley enthusiast, Shirlene collected memorabilia that celebrated the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Her eyes would light up as she recounted stories of his music and charisma.
Yet, beyond her hobbies and interests, Shirlene’s greatest joy came from her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with an unwavering devotion. Their laughter and presence filled her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Shirlene is survived by her loving companion of 43 years, Robert White; daughter, Cindy Baker (Ken Sr.) of Wildwood, Florida, and her son, Rickey Parker of Georgia. Her brother, B.E. Pace of Eustis. The legacy of her love extends to her five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In celebrating Shirlene’s life, we remember her as a woman of warmth, kindness, and boundless love. May her memory continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Friday, September 13 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. A funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
