Sandra J. Vaughan's Obituary
Sandra J. Vaughan, of Zellwood, Florida passed away Monday, May 1, 2011. Born in Hopewell, Virginia on April 5, 1947, she is survived by her parents, Harry Jr. and Jean Vaughan; a brother, Harry III; two nieces, Amie Vaughan and Jennifer Balazadeh (Saum) and their two children. After receiving a BA from the University of Tennessee, she taught at Lockhart Middle School for thirty years, during which time she also received an MA from UCF. She retired and was then able to pursue her other interests. She devoted much time and interest to improve her artistic skills in doll creation. She was a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs, as well as locally associated clubs. She became interested in bobbin lace construction while on a trip to Belgium and soon became proficient in that craft. Sandra had the talents to perfect anything she attempted. Graveside services were held onMay 4, 2011 at 10 AM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, with Pastor Bill Hodge officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cornerstone Hospice, Tavares, Florida.
