Samuel David Caruso's Obituary
Samuel David Caruso, lovingly known as Sam, of Eustis, Florida, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 72.
Sam was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, on May 17, 1953, to his parents Leonard and Catherine Caruso. In 1966, he moved with his family to Zellwood, Florida, where he grew up and later built a life rooted in hard work, family, and the outdoors.
A dedicated mechanic in maintenance, Sam was known for his skillful hands, problem‑solving nature, and willingness to help anyone who needed it. Outside of work, Sam found joy and peace in two of his greatest lifelong passions: fishing and hunting.
Sam is survived by his children Leonard Caruso, Chris Caruso, Sam Caruso, Jeannie Gallagher, and Tina Caruso; his siblings Brenda Lewis and Larry Caruso; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great‑grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply and who will carry his memory forward with pride.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 https://p.m.at the funeral chapel. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a processional to Lakeside Memory Gardens.
Parking for Hamlin & Hilbish will be in the parking lot across the street next to Lake Eustis Christian Church. There will be cones, a sign, and possible police assistance with crossing. For those unable to walk or needing additional assistance there is parking in the back of the building with a ramp to assist getting into the building.
