Roy L. Chapman's Obituary
Roy L. Chapman 81, of Zellwood, passed away on October 29, 2013. He was born in Clinton, Tennessee and moved to this area in 1989 from Irving, Texas. He was retired from the United States Army and had served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War; he was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Roy also worked a number of years for Braniff Airlines. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora. Roy is survived by his wife Sue; they were married for 52 years. Also surviving are his children; Ron (Debra) Chapman of Umatilla, Florida, Vickie Chapman of Knoxville, Tennessee, Terry Hays of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Gary Chapman of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, brother Jerry Chapman of Carrollton, Texas and his grandchildren ; Joshua Lynn Chapman, Hannah Chapman, Ashley Hays, Courtney Hays, Matthew Chapman and Joshua Chapman. Memorial services will be held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Monday at 2 PM with Rev. Bob Walker and Dr. Thomas Jamieson officiating, military honors will be provided by the Lake County Honor Guard. The final resting place will be Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.
