Robert P. Walz's Obituary
Robert P. Walz of Astor, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the age of 87 years. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Robert served his country in the US Marine Corp toward the end of World War II. He was later recalled and fought in the Korean War, where he was injured and awarded the Purple Heart. After the war, Robert went to work for General Electric. He retired after 35 years of service. Robert loved to build wooden boats. He built three replicas of a 1958 Barrel Back Chris Craft in 9 foot, 5 foot and 2 foot versions. He also loved to build model airplanes. Robert loved animals. He had a great sense of humor, making jokes about everything. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Lisa Walz of Louisville, KY; daughter, Marie Reed of Jeffersonville, IN; brother, Charles Walz of Louisville; five grandchildren, Temprance Reed of Jeffersonville, David Lee Felder of Evansville, PA, Jennifer Klawoski of Fort Polk, LA, Robert Walz of Los Angeles, CA and Christopher Walz of Lexington, KY; as well as four great grandchildren.
