Robert E. Mundy's Obituary
Robert Eugene Mundy of Grand Island, Florida passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 90 years. He was born on Sunday, December 15, 1929 in Carey, Ohio and moved to Grand Island in 1998. He was Catholic. Robert retired from National Lime & Stone Quarry. He loved to sketch and paint. People enjoyed his playing the piano, organ, guitar, violin and harmonica “by ear.” He designed and built his family home on R.R. 1 in Carey. Over his lifetime, he had built and flown over 40 radio-controlled airplanes, which were enjoyed by so many people. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. A loving husband, a devoted father and a warm-hearted grandfather, he will be missed dearly. He is survived by his children, Robert E. Mundy, Jr. of Bloomdale, Ohio, Patricia (Dennis) Carr of Atlanta, Georgia and Kathy (Tom) Dziegielewski of Shelby Township, Michigan and two grandchildren, Jacob Dziegielewski and Emily Dziegielewski.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, January 21 from 9:30 – 10:00 AM with a memorial ceremony starting at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, followed by military honors at Lakeside Memory Gardens, his final resting place. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
