Robert L. LaClare "Bob" Gray's Obituary
Robert LaClare “Bob” Gray 100, of Leesburg, passed away on January 21, 2015. He was born in McDonough County, Illinois and moved to this area in 1974. He attended Knox College and graduated from Tri State College in Angola, Indiana. He was a member of Lake Square Presbyterian Church of Leesburg. Bob began his Naval service in 1942 as an Ensign, he spent 12 weeks in New York City, served in the Aleutian Islands, Newport, Rhode Island and Washington D.C., he also served with NATO in Germany. He was a mechanical engineer and after he retired from the Navy he worked as a civilian for the Navy Aegis Program. He was predeceased by his wife Doris Peterson Gray in 2007; they had been married for 72 years. He was also predeceased by his brother Page Gray and sister Ardath Crafton. Bob is survived by his children; Shirley A. (William) Clark of Chicago, Illinois, Betty A. (Bob) Waring of Somerset, Pennsylvania and Robert L. Gray Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Committal services in Florida National Cemetery on Thursday, January 29th at 11;30 AM.
