I had the luck to help Bob and Sharyn set-up in Eustis. No matter how hot and muggy...the time flew by. It went by so fast because the conversations hit all types of topics which meant not one minute was boring. I thought I was giving to the community but instead both Bob and Sharyn helped me in a rough time of my life.
Sharyn, and family: My Deepest sorrow for the loss of this GREAT Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was like a Father to many young men and women during his time at Hofstra. I personally feel grateful for him to help me to reach my potential in Wrestling. I felt I owed him to have a National Placewinner. I will never forget him, I will always remember the good we had. G-D bless you and your Family for a Big loss. But always remember all the good that this man Coach Getchell accomplished in his lifetime. I will never forget him.

Rest in peace Bob. We shared such great times at Lake George attending our "babies'" wedding and just having fun together two years later. We enjoyed your stories and sharing talks about our families. Your legacy lives on in those children and grandchildren. Our deepest sympathy to you Sharyn and all the family and know we love you all. One of the most memorable events of my life was spending my first Thanksgiving in this country with the Getchell family. When Coach Getchell invited my family and myself to his house I was both excited and nervous. I asked him, "How will you communicate with my parents? They do not speak any English!" To which he replied," I communicate with the deaf and the blind, I surely will be able to communicate with your family. The night was a great success.
This was the beginning of an unforgettable relationship and friendship. we spoke often but always on Thanksgiving. I will think of you every year and always with a great deal of respect and love, Zelik
