Hi David Stadler younger brother of Dick, although almost 10 years separated us he was and still is loved although we have been separated by many miles for many years Dick once told me that he was happiest when he and his little dog Corky would get in his boat and go fishing although I'm sure he also really enjoyed the company of his children and absolutely his wife Mary although Dick never liked crowds of this I'm kind of the same way but Dick was very personable he was always happiest alone
Dear brother of mine when you get where you're going please say hi to mom, dad, Dawn, Bud and of course your dear wife Mary
I can share this little memory of mother once offering me the choice of chocolate pudding or butterscotch will Dick really wanted the butterscotch and I really wanted the chocolate pudding Dick got me out underneath the Appletree back in Illinois and he told me about all the bad things that was in the chocolate pudding I don't really remember the total outcome of it but I think I went with the chocolate pudding anyway
Dear Dick I so wish I had been able to spend more time with you but you had your dear Mary and I had my dear Carole so I hope you understand
love your brother Dave
until later
It's truly sad to lose Dick! I remember those times I visited Dick, Mary, Rich, Tammy, Kathy and Karen during those wonderful years when Wevica (Grandmother) and the family was all centered in Batavia. Dick once (when I was 11, more or less) drove me in the winter to see a "girlfriend" from school way, way out in the country, but Dick thought it couldn't be far, but he froze his tail off puttering way out on those gravel roads to drop me off; later, returned in the car this time ; )
Kind and approachable, Dick didn't have much interest in girls it seemed until he met Mary at the Fox Valley Restaurant in Geneva; then, he became their best customer. We remember him buying an expensive vacuum because Mary loved it, paying what four might cost, but later I realized he'd never have done that except he'd do anything at all for Mary - and Mary loved that Vacuum!!! It sure brings tears just to think about all those years and the quality of our family then and now!
