Raymond O. Brantley's Obituary
Raymond O. Brantley 83, of Cassia, passed away on March 26, 2013. He was born in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee. He moved to Leesburg in 1958, he was the manager of the home appliance department for Sears there, in 1995 he moved to Cassia. He also worked as a nurseryman for Sand Hill Ferns in Cassia. Raymond was a member of the Seminole Springs Baptist Church, the Masons, the Leesburg Moose Lodge and was an avid bowler and a licensed pilot. He is survived by his wife Glenda, they were married for 56 years, he leaves three children, Melanie (Bob) Rose of Cassia, Madeline Brantley of Cassia and David Brantley of Apopka. Raymond was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Barnes in 1987. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Angie Hudson, Kim Montgomery, Michael Barnes, Matthew Lanier, Anna Lisa Lanier, Nicholas Brantley, Blake Rose and Amanda Brantley. Several great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held in the Hamlin Hilbish chapel on Saturday, March 30th at 11 AM with Pastor James Glass officiating, the family will receive friends from 9 AM until the funeral hour. Interment services will be Monday, April 1st at 11 AM in Oakdale Cemetery, Deland.
