Perry A. Peavy's Obituary
Perry A. Peavy 92, of Umatilla, passed away on April 14, 2012. He was born in Sylvania, Georgia and moved to Umatilla in 1980 from Miami. He was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Altoona and worked 25 years for Lake County after his retirement. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during WW II and attended reunions of Army Battery B 101st Antiaircraft Artillary for 60 years. He is survived by his wife Vivi Don; they were married for 67 years. Also surviving are his children Wayne (Patricia) Peavy of Tallahassee, Susan Bastin of Umatilla and Harrell Peavy of Ft. Pierce, Florida, 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. Peavy was predeceased by his son Ronald P. Peavy in 1980 and his granddaughter Susann Patricia Jackson in 1998. Graveside services with Military Honors were held in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis at Noon on Thursday April 19th with Rev. Gary Robinson officiating. The family requests memorials to The First Baptist Church of Altoona, 42226 State Road 19 Altoona, FL 32702. There was a reception for the public at the church after the graveside service.
