Pennie Z. West, 60, of Umatilla passed away in Orlando on Tuesday April 7, 2009. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved here from Silver Spring, Maryland in 1973. Pennie was a hairdresser at the Sheer Magic Salon in Mount D Read Obituary

I worked with Penny at Shear Magic and from day one we were friends. She and I had the same sense of humor and brought so much laughter to the salon that the owner wanted us to quiet it down. The two of us were taken to lunch by the boss and asked if we could not laugh so much at work. I said we could try and Penny's response was " have you thought that maybe we have lightened the atmosphere in the salon to a higher level and people are enjoying the liteness of the salon now with not so much tangible stress there?" We never were asked out to lunch again and we never stopped our joking! Thank you Penny for your wonderful gift of laughter and you will always be remembered and missed but you are in a better place now with no pain-I Love You. The thing I loved the most about Pennie was her smile. It was always warm and inviting. I remember back in high school loving to go to her house because she always made you feel welcome. Especially with her cooking. You knew you were special when she made you her lasagna. Her loving nature was passed on to her beautiful daughter and shines thru her.
