Michael D. Hightower's Obituary
Michael D. Hightower of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the age of 61 years. He was born in Washington, DC to Herbert E. and Marion V. Hightower. Michael served nearly 10 years in the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He worked as a convenience store clerk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Steve Hightower and Herbert Hightower, Jr. He is remembered by his daughters, Christina M. Peach and her husband, Patrick of Mount Dora, FL and Lisa Hightower-Carney and her husband, Shane of Altamonte Springs, FL; as well as his granddaughter, Isabella Hightower-Carney; and his sisters, Candy Prudhomme of Arkansas, Kathleen Mary Hightower-Fiorenza of Sanford, FL and Margaret "Molly" Hendry of Winter Park, FL.
Mass will be held in his memory Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 9:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora. Following Mass, Michael will receive military honors at 11:30 am at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
