Merle Gene Baugh's Obituary
Merle Gene Baugh 91, of Eustis, passed away on March 17, 2019. He was born in Miami County, Ohio and moved here in 1957 from Springfield, Ohio. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eustis and a Veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Gene was the former owner of Service Trucking and Southern Freightways of Eustis and Ball Transport of Orlando. He was a Life Member of Eustis Lodge 1578 B.P.O.E., he was on the Board of Directors of United Southern Bank and a long time member of the Florida Trucking Association. Gene is survived by his children; Daniel Baugh (Denise), Thomas Baugh (Michele Curreri) of Eustis and Lisa Kara (Craig) of Merritt Island, Florida and his grandchildren; Taylor Kara, Katherine Danielle Baugh, Kendall Kara, Mitchell Kara, Michael Baugh and Matthew Baugh. He was predeceased by his wife Lois Katherine Baugh in 1994 and by his siblings; Howard Baugh, Herb Baugh, Richard "Shorty" Baugh, Verle Baugh and Ruth Ann McCoy. The family will receive friends Friday, March 22nd in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel from 5 until 7 PM. Funeral services will be held in the First United Methodist Church of Eustis on Saturday, March 23rd at 11 AM, committal services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.
