Melba is my Grandma who us grandkids called Nanny. She was definitely one of a kind. And she was a very strong-willed and determined woman. The memory that stands out the most is Christmas time at Nanny's. Every Christmas Eve the whole family would meet at her house and we would eat, open presents, and us kids would open whatever toys we had just got. I can't recall one Christmas Eve that wasn't fun. Nanny loved her family and we sure loved her. She is flying high with the Angels now. .no suffering and completely free from Alzheimer's. Nanny fought a very long and tough battle with Alzheimer's and she sure gave it hell. I love you Nanny and I'll never forget you. I only hope that I will fight my battles as strongly and bravely as you did. Till we meet again..love you!
