Mary Loraine "MaLo" Hampy's Obituary
Mary Loraine “MaLo” Hampy 96, of Eustis, passed away on August 23, 2020. She was born in Deland and moved to Eustis in 1937 from Starke, Florida. She was a retired secretary for the First National Bank of Eustis, later Barnett Bank. MaLo was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eustis, and had been active in the Anna Miller Circle of Eustis Lodge 1578 B.P.O.E. While enjoying summers in Cruso, North Carolina she loved to show her family and friends her favorite spots to hike, pick berries, picnic and shop. While in Eustis in the winter she enjoyed evenings with her friends playing Scrabble or card games. She was always up for anything outdoors, including hiking the Ocala National Forest and swimming in the springs. The water was never too cold for her, be it a North Carolina river or a Florida spring. MaLo loved the holidays and Christmas' with her family around the biggest tree she could find. She is survived by her children; Karen Cramer (John) of Anthony, Florida, Darryl Hampy (Jamie) of Ocala, Brian Hampy (Cindy) of Eustis, Robin Pearce (Billy) also of Eustis and Dawn Hardin (Audie) of Altoona. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis on Thursday, August 27th at 11 AM. The family requests those desiring direct memorials to the Hospice of their choice.
