Mary Ellen Gilger's Obituary
Mary Ellen Gilger, age 89, of Tavares went home to her Lord and Savior on January 16, 2015. She was born in Waterville, Ohio on February 2, 1925, daughter of Zulu and Harvey Lytle. She graduated from Waterville High School, attended Bowling Green University and Miami University. Following graduation, she worked for Owens Illinois and Owens Corning as a secretary. Mary Ellen was a devoted and loving wife for 67 years with her husband, Jim. Together they loved and raised 2 children. Jenny (who works for Honda in California) and Jeffery (Beth) who live in Columbus, Ohio. She enjoyed the blessings of 4 grandchildren; Kristin (Justin Greiner), Abigail, Lydia, and Caleb & 1 great grandchild. While living in Toledo, she loved her Zion Methodist Church family where she was very active for 46 years. She now loves her church family at First Presbyterian Church in Eustis. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Eustis. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider, First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, or another charity.
