Marvin Leroy Hanes Sr.'s Obituary
Marvin Leroy Hanes Sr., 89, of Mount Dora, Florida, was born May 8, 1936, in Newport, Ohio, and passed away peacefully at home the night of Jan. 7, 2026. Marvin was a very talented mason who took great pride in his work and later spent his retirement years with his wife, Shelby. He had a deep love for animals and enjoyed spending time outdoors, often tending to his yard. He is survived by his children, Debra Patterson, Pamela Kirkland and her husband, Robert, and Marvin Hanes Jr.; grandchildren Jason Patterson and his wife, Danielle, Michelle Bruder, Erika Kirkland, and Marissa Hanes Meadors and her husband, Dylan; great-grandchildren Braidleigh Patterson and Landyn and Levi Meadors; and his sister, Charlotte Connolly of Marietta, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64½ years. Marvin will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Lakeside Memory Gardens, 36601 County Road 19A, Eustis, FL 32726
