Mark Louis Gardner's Obituary
On Wednesday October 4, 2023, Mark Louis Gardner of Umatilla took his place with God and passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Mark was born in Ashtabula, Ohio but lived in many places during his journey on Earth. He moved to the Orlando area in 1983 and lived in Lake and Marion counties until his passing. Mark loved to spend time with his friends and family. He had many hobbies but mostly enjoyed fishing and spending time on his gun range. Mark loved God in many ways, he attended Victory Church in Dona Vista. He helped the homeless when he could, providing food and shelter. He also loved animals and ran a pet rescue; no animal was hungry or without shelter on his watch.
He was preceded in his death by his brothers, Stanley, Edward, and David. Mark is remembered and will dearly be missed by his wife Angela Gardner of Fruitland Park; sons, Kevin Gardner (Nicolle) of Eustis, Luke Gardner (Tamara Herrin) of Homosassa, and Denver Gardner (Stephanie Smith) of Indian Valley, Virginia; grandchildren, Stanley Gardner, Violet Gardner, and Bailey Smith-Gardner; best friend Marlena Becker (Mt. Dora); sisters, Vicky Dolbeare of Hillsboro, New Hampshire and Connie Fretz of Akron, Ohio. brother Danny Gardner of Beverly, Massachusetts.
A graveside ceremony will be held at Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora on Friday, October 13 at 11:00 AM.
