Marie M. Muller's Obituary
With the passing of Marie Magdalene Pfeffer Muller the eleven children of Michael J. Pfeffer and Anna Thilges Pfeffer are now reunited with "Ma" and "Pa" on the other side. A little after midnight on June 4, 2012, Marie, age 90, died in the hospital in Leesburg, Florida, after a final day of visiting with and expressing her love with each of her six children and other family members. Marie, born on August 20, 1921, in Livermore, Iowa, lived there until moving to rural Algona as a child. On November 21, 1944, Marie became the wife of Raymond Muller. After marriage, they lived in several area towns including Wesley before moving to North Thorington Street in Algona in 1959. Marie kept busy as a wife, homemaker, and eventually a mother to six. With Ray's passing on August 9, 1978, Marie continued in the work force and had many jobs including working at Winnebago Industries, serving as a care attendant, waitressing, cooking, and bartending. Most recently she was employed at Sister Sarah's before retiring in her 80's.In Marie's spare time, she enjoyed camping, cooking, photography, as well as collecting Beanie Babies and dolls. Nothing meant more to her than family. She thrived on the chaos of big family gatherings. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were everything to her and she made sure they knew it. She kept records of family history and kept family members connected through letters, phone calls, and sharing her photos.Always one with a lively personality and giving heart, Marie was loved by many. Among those are her children: Ron of Deltona, Florida; James (Renee) of Algona, Iowa; Larry (Janelle) of Northwood, Iowa; Roger (Kathy) of Estherville, Iowa; Cheryl Goff of Leesburg, Georgia; and Kevin and fiancé Annette Christerson of Duncanville, Texas and former daugthers-in-law Hilary Muller of Orlando, Florida, and Sandra Muller of Burt, Iowa. Marie is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her spouse Ray, a daughter-in-law Elizabeth Muller, and her brothers: Lawrence, Michael, Francis, Henry, John, and Walter and her four sisters: Henrietta Tucker, Ann Green, Agnes Witham, and Elizabeth Ludwig.
