Madeline "Maddie" Hamilton's Obituary
Madeline “Maddie” Hamilton, 63, of Eustis passed away August 5, 2012, many years too soon. A dancer most of her life, Maddie trained in New York and England before moving to Eustis in 1965, where she graduated from Eustis High in 1968. She continued her love of dance and being on stage with The Bay Street Players in Eustis where she was truly one of the Grand Dames. Slapstick comedy was her forte’. She made hundreds if not thousands of patrons of the theatre laugh hysterically with her perfect comedic timing, funny faces and foreign accents. Countless Best Actress awards proved she was a local star. Theatre was a hobby but fitness was her career and anybody around here who took an aerobics class in the 80’s and 90’s probably took it with Maddie. Surviving an ab workout with Maddie was definitely something to be proud of. Her passion for fitness was surpassed only by her compassion for animals. Helping all creatures great and small was her personal mission in life. She rescued and saved countless little critters who owe their life to her. She was an angel for the animals her whole life and that is sure to continue in her death. Maddie is survived by Michael, her loving husband of 29 years, daughter Caroline Barringer of New York, daughter Julie Malik of Fruitland Park and son Davis Barringer,of Oregon. She also had 2 beautiful grandchildren, Jamison and Jara Paquette. A gathering of family, friends and anyone with a loving thought or kind word was held on Thursday, August 9th, beginning at 5:30pm. Please join her family to Celebrate the life of an incredible woman and hopefully enjoy a beautiful Lake County sunset. And if you know Maddie then you know how she felt about color. So in her honor ~ nobody wears all black. Please bring a favorite dish to share and we'll have a beautiful evening together sharing stories, laughter, love and music provided by Caroline Barringer and Steve Cassano. Dear friends Sam and Ellen Green have lovingly offered their home at 3206 Lake Joanna Drive, Eustis, on Lake Joanna for the memorial.
