Barbara…Fran and I are so sorry to hear about Lowell’s passing. And we regret we were out of town and were not able to attend his service.
I loved Lowell…he was one of a kind …quite a character…and always good to me. A boss who became a cherished friend.
Fran and I have been reflecting on all of our good times together..and in every situation it included a lot of fun and laughter.
Needless to say I will never forget Kamm…and will always be appreciative and thankful for all he taught me and all of the joyful and memorable times together.
Fran and I would love to talk sometime….(407)761-8133. I tried to call you but didn’t have a good number.
Thinking of you and your family,
Dan and Fran
I was so saddened to read of Lowell’s death. I fondly remember working for him during the 70’s, 80’s and part of the 90’s. He was such a good and honorable man, with a wonderful sense of humor and work ethic. I trust you and the boys will cherish your many happy memories of a loving husband and father.
Dear Barbara, I was so sorry to read about Lowell this morning. I remember him fondly. As a young, naive, inexperienced girl who struggled with just about everything in work and life, Lowell was so patient and kind. I learned so much just from his steady, calm demeanor and I always appreciated him. Barbara, I loved the time we spent together in the early days and remember what a blessing it was for both of you to find each other. It was truly special to see how two people were so perfect together. Much love and peace, Teague LeGette Gilliland
Barbara and Family, I was saddened this morning when I learned of Lowell’s passing. I had the privilege of being one of Lowell’s (and yours!) teammates at SunBank/ SunTrust and later a Southern Oaks neighbor. Lowell was an inspiration to all of us at the bank and a “go to guy” for almost any banking issue. I always considered Lowell as one of my mentors. Please know that you and your family will be in my family’s prayers. I pray that happy memories will soon overtake today’s grief.
God Bless you all.

I worked for Lowell from 1964 - 1968 when the bank was First National Bank in customer service. He was a great boss. Even through the years have passed, I still remember him as a kind and caring man. I have thought of him so many times. His calm demeaner in all situations made a lasting impression on me. He was a blessing.

Barbara, so sorry to read of Lowell’s passing. He was such a good guy in so many ways. A loyal SunBanker for over four decades, he was the universally trusted leader we all relied upon to ensure smooth and reliable bank operations. His knowledge was imparted to legions of bankers preparing them for a brighter future in the industry. His wisdom prevailed when he chose you as his life partner. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both and your family.

Being married to this man for almost 49 years was the greatest honor and blessing of my life. He was kind, loving, generous, hard working, and a man of great faith. He loved his family very much and thoroughly enjoyed his grandkids. While I am broken-hearted and missing him, I am also happy that he is in heaven and I will see him again, happy and pain free thanks be to with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lowell was a great boss and teacher. He hired me from the Flagship Bank merger and was instrumental in my 33 year career. I always enjoyed talking to him. He had a great sense of humor and was down to earth. I will miss him and send prayers to Barbara and his family.
