Louise Phillips LeHeup's Obituary
Louise Phillips LeHeup of Eustis, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the age of 94. Born in DeGrasse, New York, she moved to Eustis in 1939 at the age of nine, quickly making it her lifelong home. Though she spent brief periods in Clermont and Tavares, Eustis remained at the heart of her life and legacy.
Louise was blessed to share 61 wonderful years of marriage with William “Bill” A. LeHeup, the love of her life, until his passing on January 28, 2017. Their enduring bond was a testament to love, devotion, and partnership. A devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Eustis, Louise found faith and fellowship within her community.
A loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her. She had a creative spirit, enjoying crocheting and sewing, and was an avid reader who found joy in the pages of a good book.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, and her sister, Rosalind Joyner. She is survived by her daughter, Karen LeHeup Smith of Eustis; her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Denisa LeHeup of Summerfield, North Carolina; granddaughter, Kelsie (Grant) Shrader of Greensboro, North Carolina; grandson, Travis (Lia) Smith of Kinnelon, New Jersey; and great-granddaughter, Charley Delilah. She also leaves behind her cherished niece, Jane (Ralph) Diehl of North Hampton, Pennsylvania, and her dear friend and caretaker, Kerry Spell of Eustis.
The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to LEASH, Inc. www.leashinc.org/donate; P.O. Box 432, Tavares, FL 32778 or to the First United Methodist Church of Eustis, 600 S. Grove Street, Eustis, FL 32726.
A graveside memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
Louise’s love, warmth, and enduring presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
