Lori D. Jones' Obituary
Lori D. Jones 57, of Mid Florida Lakes, Leesburg, went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2018. She was born in Akron, Ohio and moved here in 1998. Lori was a member of the First Baptist Church of Umatilla. Lori loved her church and Pastor Brooks. Lori worked over the years at Dillard's Department Stores, Dollar General Stores, Big Lots. She started out in Akron as a fobber for Quickie. It was a tedious job but she loved it. Lori worked hard to gain her memberships in the American Legion Auxiliary. She belonged to may groups at Mid Florida Lakes, Silver Threads, Crocheting, Ceramics and Stained Glass to name a few. Lori spent much of her time sewing and crocheting for Shriners Hospital. She made 100's of hats and scarves, hats for the babies and hats and scarves for the poor. Lori donated so much time to helping the poor and unfortunate. She made bags of Hope with necessities and toiletries for the homeless and battered women. She wanted to give them Hope Lori was very selfless she wanted to do for anyone in need. She would accompany residents to put their dogs down knowing how hard that is and she did not want them going alone. Lori also did not miss a party. She loved to dress up for the parties at the park. Being a Red Hat, Kentucky Derby Party, St. Patricks, Mardi Gras, Christmas and New Years to name a few. Lori always wanted to live in Florida however after years she decided summers were just too hot so she would go to her Sisters house in New Jersey for the cooler weather. Lori Loved her Grand Babies and even though they are small they will never forget her because Lori had that impact. Lori also left many many friends some of 40 plus years. When Lori made a friend they were friends forever. She had so many wonderful friends in Florida especially in the park. Lori is survived by her husband Walter, they were married and rode Harleys for twenty years. Her daughters; Brittany Eitner of Akron, Ohio and Montana Patuc of Leesburg, Florida, her step son; Shawn Staggs of Mantua, Ohio, her sisters; Nikki Lewis (Alan Greco) of Hoboken, New Jersey and Tammy Barcus of Marion, Ohio, and her grandchildren, the Loves of Her Life. Mia Kiser and James Simmons. Also her niece Emily Barcus and Step Sister Cathy Wolf. Rest in Peace Sweet Beautiful Lori!! You will always be in our Hearts! We Love You!
