Lois K. Smith's Obituary
Lois K. Smith 95, of Eustis, passed away on February 8, 2016. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Eustis in 1923. She was the co-owner of Smith’s Wrecker Service & Truck Salvage of Mount Dora, a life-long active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis and an active member of the Anna Miller Circle for over 40 years. Lois and her husband, Fred, were very active in the Antique Car Club Fred predeceased her in 1998. They were avid collectors who shared their collections in several venues including Disney World. Lois was also an avid bowler at Eustis Bowling Lanes and she enjoyed traveling. Lois was a world traveler. She has visited many countries and has once completed a several month around the world trip. She lived by the motto, "have suitcase, will travel". She is survived by her sons; Von F. Smith (Jeanie Browne) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Fred C. (Tammi) Smith of St. Augustine, Florida, her grandchildren; Laura Smith Scholz (Mike) of Edina, Minnesota, Michael F. VonSmith (Kristen) of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Greggory A. Smith (Meridyth) of Fleming Island, Florida and Stephanie Smith Black (Danny) of Orange Park, Florida, and 5 great grandchildren; Taylor, Kendall, Gavin, Garrett and Katie. The family will receive friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Friday, February 12th from 1 – 3 PM, funeral services will be held at 3 PM in the chapel with Dr. Leon Bloder, of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, officiating.
