Linda Gable Carmine's Obituary
Linda Gable Carmine, age 83, a resident of Mount Dora, FL, has entered eternal rest after passing peacefully on May 17, 2026.
Linda was born on November 6, 1942, at the Gable family home in Melrose Park, outside Philadelphia, PA. She spent her childhood with her loving parents, four siblings, and friends who would remain close to her heart for the rest of her life.
Linda lived in the Philadelphia area for most of her life, marrying and raising her four sons, whom she loved more than anything in the world, in Huntingdon Valley. Linda was also a very successful real estate agent, helping many friends and customers find their dream homes in the Montgomery County area. In 2009, Linda followed her sons to Florida and moved to Lakes of Mount Dora where she quickly made friends and many new memories.
Linda loved giving her sons a memorable childhood. In 1977, she drove them out west for a 6 week vacation that included the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge, and many places in between. The family also enjoyed trips to Bermuda and Key Largo, FL. Thanks to Linda, everyone in the family has a lifetime of family memories.
She was also an avid animal lover. Linda had many beloved pets including several German Shepherds and cats. She loved them all, but her two favorites were her Shepherd, Tucker, and her red and white long-haired Tabby named Tigger. During her later years, Linda's cats kept her motivated to stay active. She rescued a number of them, ensuring they had a safe place to live.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Charles J Gable Jr and Virginia F Gable, siblings Suzanne G Maynard, Charles J Gable III, Peter F Gable, beloved son Stephen J Carmine, her "wasband" (her favorite nickname for her loving ex-husband) James H Carmine Jr, and longtime friend Tom Shreiner.
Linda is survived by her sons William C Carmine (Bonnie), Scott H Carmine, and Douglas A Carmine (Melissa), sister Virginia G Vitty, sister-in-law Caroline "Pixi" Gable, step-grandsons, nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, and her 4 beloved cats.
Linda's sons would like to thank her loving and attentive LOMD neighbors, Teresa Stahl and her care team at T&T Senior Care, Dana Corbin, and VITAS Healthcare of Mount Dora for their uncompromising love and care of their beloved Mom. They thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
